Dogs Need Different Diets At Different Ages

Dogs need different diets at different ages. Yes. This is true. For example, the puppy needs milk as the major food item while an adult dog may need beef or chicken in addition to the boiled egg and milk. So depending on the age factor, the diet schedule varies in reality for the dogs like any other species. 

Puppies need greater amounts of protein, fat and carbohydrates than an adult dog.  Furthermore, puppies need more frequent feeding schedules in a day, unlike an adult dog. The movement based requirements of diet are more in the case of puppies, since they are often more active than the adult dogs. 

Elder dogs need restricted protein but the protein needs to be easily digestible and easily assimilated in the body.  The diet schedule should have ample supply of water for them. Feeding aged dogs too much protein may finally lead to over burden to the renal structures and ultimately, the dog may end up damaging filters in the kidney.

This is true especially when the immune system of these dogs is compromised due to many factors.  Similarly, the elderly dogs need less food only because the movements of the adult dogs are highly restricted and hence, they have to spend a limited of energy. 

Female dogs in the pregnancy stage need not be fed a full stomach since it may cause some discomforts to the animal. However, the pregnant animal and the nursing animal need special type of food items that deliver a balanced type of nutrition with proper supplementation of vitamins and minerals. 

The nursing animal with puppies needs to be fed with enough amounts of calcium and hence, there will not be any calcium based deficiency and the bones of the puppies will be strong without any curving.

If you've noticed that specific things trigger your dog's bad behavior, then keep it busy when that thing is occurring, so your dog can't concentrate on it. For example, if your dog doesn't behave well around other dogs, provide positive distractions when you move past other canines during outings. This will teach your dog that things he once feared or disliked have positive associations.

It's important to include your family when training your dog. There will probably be a main trainer, but having everyone in the house enforce the same rules helps the dog associate the rules with the house instead of the person doing most of the training.

Do not allow your dog to be in charge by deciding when he should, or should not, listen. To keep your training on track, it's important to only issue commands when you into to follow through with receiving the expected behavior from your pet.

Always take your dog for a nice walk before leaving for a period of time. By letting them get some exercise before you go, they are less anxious and not so likely to run amok in the house and do damage.

You should begin dog training during puppy stages if possible. While it isn't essential, a young dog will be easier to train. If you train your dog from an early age, he will become an obedient pet and a close friend.

When training your new dog, you call them by name as much as possible. Use it as often as possible when you have your puppy during the first weeks, the puppy will make the connection. Chose a name that can easily be distinguished from other words, and that has only one or two syllables.

Dog training should always be positive and encouraging. If your dog performs a task you ask him to, reward him. Using negative reactions and punishment don't work and they will cause your dog to fear you.

Training a dog is a lot easier if the trainer can work from a solid understanding of canine behavior. If you know this, you can train your dog more effectively. After understanding more about how different dogs think, the training process becomes much easier.
